This job was a fun one. I’ve done some effects, text treatment and a bit of painting and compositing in the style of the old action man commercials. Enjoy!

Banrock “Infinite Infusions” 30sec spot - a very exciting, pretty complex project that we’ve been working on for a while now together with The Gingerbeadman. Enjoy!

I go to Byron Bay every year for Easter, because its my favourite place on earth, and the waves are pumping around april. This year I got stuck there doing some graphics, paint, roto and integration for this fun online promo video for this year’s Splendour in the Grass - directed by local surfer slash filmmaker genius Johnny Abegg, and post produced by Redboat Media. Fun project, fun video. 83000 views and counting. Enjoy!!

I’ve done this opening shot for our Hahn Academy promo video at Captiv8. Its a full scene replacement/set extension with a live action plate of an oldschool Jaguar. The original concept art of the Academy was based on the Guggenheim museum in Spain.

The shooting conditions weren’t ideal, basically it was pouring rain all day with only a 20 minute window to get the shots (3 other VFX setups and plates). We shot on a Red Epic, and got some background and reflection plates of the glass entrance of Carriageworks, that were used as the entrance of this building. To make it easier maintaining continuity and most importantly save time, matching variations of these background plates were used in the following shots, so no 3D was necessary.

I tracked and rotoscoped the car in mocha, and then moved into Cinema 4D, and reworked a stock model of the Guggenheim museum, did projection mapping, additional modelling, cloth simulation for the flag, texturing, materials for the entire scene, a HDRI lighting and rendered various passes with the c4d renderfarm.

The passes then were imported to After Effects along with a 3D camera and planes, did some painting work on the background plates, and comped the whole thing together.

The project took around 7 days in total.

Tropfest 2012 trailer - This year’s Tropfest signature item was the lightbulb, and my pitch for the trailer was a short, metaphorical story about creative struggle.

I’ve done this fun Tv Winners promo spot for Captiv8. The idea for this came after watching the epic three and a half hour psychedelic experimental movie Enter the Void, that plays entirely first person perspective, and thought it would be a cool thing to implement that point of view in a sales commercial.

Camera, lighting by Andras Polonyi, styleframes by Allen Yeung. Concept, direction, 3D, compositing, by me.

I was shooting VFX plates for a project at dawn at Palm Beach, Sydney with some serious lens collection when this epic sunrise happened. Check how big the sun gets when you zoom in with a 400mm lens with a double extender!
